Drashta enhances the impact investment process, providing investors with the tools to mobilise capital at the scale and pace needed to solve our most pressing global challenges

WHY WE EXIST

The window of opportunity to solve the climate and ecological crisis is fast closing. While awareness of this existential threat has never been greater, a significant funding shortfall still remains, with risk and lack of liquidity being the primary bottlenecks.

Drashta Impact was founded to solve the key pain points impact investors face, developing a unique de-risking tool and liquidity solution to empower investors to substantially amplify their impact securely.

The result: a de-risked, collaborative way to allocate, enabling investors to fund the highest-impact opportunities with complete assurance.

Why We Exist

We can't solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Albert Einstein

PILLARS

While the impact investment space has come a long way, the prevailing shortfall of impact capital and slow rate of market adoption of impact solutions demonstrate that traditional approaches are falling short and simply cannot get us to where we need to be.

Drashta is purpose-built to address the key bottlenecks and break down the barriers to impact investing, with our core pillars providing a multi-faceted solution to enable step-change advancement.

1. DE-RISKING IMPACT INVESTING

CONSTRAINT

Investors constrained by risk and unable to allocate to impactful investments to the degree that they would like

SOLUTION

A tool for investors to transform the risk profile of impact investments and allocate to specific impact opportunities with tailored downside protection

2. LIQUIDITY

CONSTRAINT

Investors constrained when allocating to investments that lack liquidity as well as not being able to exit existing impact assets easily

SOLUTION

A solution that provides investors with access to liquidity through a regulated exchange, both for new impact allocations as well as existing assets

3. COLLABORATION AT SCALE

CONSTRAINT

Investor groups operating in siloes and impactful companies and funds lacking the support and global reach they need

SOLUTION

A dynamic impact ecosystem, enabling key players to come together and align at a greater scale than ever before, further reducing risk and increasing impact

4. ACCELERATING IMPACT SOLUTIONS

CONSTRAINT

Market adoption and global rollout of proven impact solutions far too slow, especially cross-border

SOLUTION

A strategy centred around accelerating market adoption through our systems-based approach and in collaboration with our ecosystem partners

5. PURPOSE-BUILT STRUCTURE

CONSTRAINT

Impact funds using traditional structures and models not designed with impact maximisation at their core

SOLUTION

A purpose-built structure with integrated circularity, retaining upside in order to enable underwriting and re-investment in subsequent impact investments

ALIGNED MODEL, CIRCULAR STRUCTURE

Drashta's business model is such that we only profit when the underlying investments succeed and only after investors have received back their initial outlay and return in full. This positions us to serve as an aligned, long-term partner as opposed to the transactional nature of a broker or service provider.

Furthermore, Drashta retains 100% of the net surplus returns generated from investments in order to underwrite as well as re-invest in subsequent impact investments in perpetuity. Fully owned by a purpose trust (the equivalent of a foundation) at the top level, this creates a growing endowment for the acceleration of sustainable development.

THE ORIGIN OF DRASHTA

Drashta was founded by Milti Chryssavgis who saw the urgent need for new approaches, models and structures to mobilise capital for impact at the scale. Milti joined forces with Nicholas Parker, who has been at the forefront of sustainability and impact investing for over three decades and is best known for coining the term CleanTech. Throughout his career, Nicholas observed the gap in the market and inefficiencies around scaling proven solutions from where they originate, to new global markets where the opportunity and need are greatest.

Combining Milti's financial engineering with Nicholas' pioneering vision around the levers for catalytic impact resulted in a novel way to unlock capital at scale and tactically deploy it to create exponential impact. Initially founded as an investment firm, they realised the unique solution would be most impactful in the form of a tool that any impact investor could integrate to enhance their own impact investment process. The result is a solution that breaks down the barriers to impact investing, enabling even the most risk-averse investors maximise their impact with complete peace of mind.

THE MEANING OF Drashta

Drashta is a Sanskrit word, translated as the observer, seer or self-awareness.

On an individual level, it is a state of the mind which is observing itself.

At the macro level, it is the ability to look upon the world from an objective viewpoint and see things for what they really are.
